Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MonZap handles information when you use the MonZap website, the iOS app named TCG Card Scanner Value: MonZap, the MonZap Chrome extension, and related services. MonZap is an independent Pokemon TCG scanner, price checker, collection tracker, restock alert, and set guide platform provided by James Wade.
Quick summary
- MonZap uses camera and photo library access to identify Pokemon cards you choose to scan or select.
- Collection and scan history features are designed primarily for your device, unless you choose to export, share, request support, or use a feature that sends data to MonZap services.
- MonZap uses services such as Firebase, Google Analytics, Meta, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, and Apple App Store systems for app functionality, security, analytics, attribution, crash reporting, subscriptions, and purchases.
- MonZap may use card images, scan-result labels, and related technical metadata to operate the scanner and improve card-recognition accuracy.
- If you join a beta waitlist, MonZap stores your email address and limited signup attribution so it can send product updates and an invitation.
- MonZap does not sell your personal information.
Information we collect or process
Camera and photo scans. With your permission, MonZap can use your camera or selected photos so the app can identify trading cards. By using MonZap's scanner or photo-identification features, you allow MonZap to process and use submitted card images, scan results, and related metadata to return card matches, show set information, display variants and marketplace reference prices, troubleshoot issues, and improve card-recognition accuracy. MonZap does not use card scans for facial recognition or biometric identification.
Collection and scan information. If you save cards, create collections, track quantities, review scan history, or export collection data, MonZap processes the card records and related details needed to provide those features.
App, device, and security data. MonZap may process app version, build number, iOS version, device model, locale, anonymous Firebase identifiers, App Check tokens, request metadata, and crash or diagnostic information. This helps keep the service working, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
Analytics and attribution data. MonZap records limited product analytics such as website page views, App Store button clicks, onboarding, scans, paywall views, trials, and purchase-related events. The website may use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, and Meta's server-side Conversions API to measure visits and App Store button clicks. Campaign parameters, referring pages, browser and device information, IP-derived location, Meta click identifiers, and similar technical data may be processed by these providers. MonZap also uses AppsFlyer and Apple's privacy controls to measure app installs and downstream subscription performance. A pseudonymous journey identifier may connect an App Store button click, attributed app install, and later RevenueCat subscription-lifecycle event for campaign measurement. If iOS asks for tracking permission, you can choose whether to allow tracking.
Purchases and subscriptions. iOS purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Chrome extension passes and subscriptions are handled by Stripe. MonZap receives subscription and entitlement information such as product identifiers, transaction identifiers, status, renewal, refund, or expiration data. MonZap does not directly receive your full payment card number.
Restock alerts. The MonZap Chrome extension can store your watched product IDs, retailer choices, notification setting, recently delivered alert IDs, and sign-in state in Chrome storage. If you sign in or buy paid access, MonZap processes your Google account identity, email address, Stripe customer reference, and restock entitlement so access can be restored. Retailer activity is not a record of a completed purchase.
Beta waitlists. If you join the restock-alert beta waitlist, MonZap stores your email address, signup time, source page, referring domain, and limited campaign attribution. MonZap uses this information to measure interest, prevent duplicate entries, send beta updates, and deliver an invitation when testing opens.
Feedback and support. If you submit a feature request, comment, support email, or other message, MonZap may process the text you send, your optional email address, app version, device details, and related diagnostics so we can respond and improve the product.
Website data. When you visit the MonZap website, hosting, analytics, and advertising-attribution providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, requested URL, campaign parameters, click identifiers, and timestamps for security, performance, measurement, and logging. Campaign information and a pseudonymous journey identifier may be kept in browser session storage for up to 30 minutes so they can be carried to an App Store download link while you browse the site. MonZap may retain a limited first-party attribution record containing campaign and conversion milestones for up to 180 days; this record does not store raw IP addresses, Meta cookies, or RevenueCat user identifiers.

Photos and scanner improvement
MonZap is built around card images. Please avoid including faces, addresses, documents, or other sensitive information in the frame when scanning cards.
MonZap may upload card images and result labels over Wi-Fi to improve recognition accuracy. These uploads are limited by daily quotas and may include metadata such as card ID, scanner result, app version, iOS version, device model, and scanner path. They are not intended to include your name or email. If you do not want card images processed for scanner operation and improvement, do not submit scans or selected photos through MonZap.
Sharing with service providers
MonZap shares information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, website, Chrome extension, analytics, attribution, subscriptions, security, support, and infrastructure. These providers may include Firebase and Google services, Meta, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, hosting providers, and other infrastructure vendors.
MonZap displays marketplace reference prices based on TCGPlayer and Cardmarket data where available. Some TCGPlayer links may be affiliate links. Affiliate clicks may be processed by TCGPlayer or its affiliate network to attribute a referral.
